Our Mission
Here @ 234 Townsend Street we have created a gluten free grocery store... as a service to our communities. Here we offer nutritional support in the form of edible accessible + reasonably priced nutrition for all our friends + families who are gluten free... that would be 15 million people in the United States!
Now how did Seam Studio come to sponsor a consumer based website Gluten Free Grocery + open a gluten-free grocery store?
Well, a year or so ago here @ Seam Studio, where we create gardens of extraordinary beauty... Rody Santamarina, our estimable main project manager, realized that he was gluten intolerant. We shifted our daily luncheons from communal organic luncheons to communal gluten free luncheons. In October 2010, we created a Gluten- Free Review website GlutenFreeReviewer.com, as a public service complementing our pro-bono edible + medicinal public gardens. Calvin Chin is the chief blogger for the site, which provides informational reviews of gluten-free food products based on taste, texture, value and nutrition.
In the process of searching for gluten-free foods for Rody + our website reviews, we realized the need to offer our public a broad range of culturally diverse gluten-free food both online + in real time... So, here we are... Gluten Free Grocery... where we offer gluten-free delicious + affordable edibles + where we encourage the education of our communities about a Gluten-Free Life through demonstrations + seminars by nutritionists / food vendors / cooks / writers. Aligned with our practice of creating edible gardens, Gluten Free Grocery seeks to expand our awareness of health and nutrition. Come by + nosh!!!!
